"Richard delivered audio assets for our Explore Mars Virtual Reality application which premiered at the 35th Space Symposium.  He was great to work with, very  professional and personable. He delivered high quality original music and sound effects that helped polish up the application and make it a huge success."

-Amy Pallatt, IT Program Manager

"Richard Ash helped produce the first ever TEDxVail trailer by creating distinctive original music, instrumentations, and sounds to accompany the theme “Naturally .” He was stretched to dream up sounds he might find playing in Vail’s ski area, forest, tree tops, and rivers. His substantial creative effort inspired an [animated trailer] we are all proud to share, truly an idea worth spreading."

"I asked Richard Ash to work on my cinematic audiobook. As my mix engineer, sound designer and composer he provided the best momentum Black Star could have been given. You won’t regret having Richard on your team."

-Randy Greer, Creator & Director of Black Star

"Richard started with South Bay Musical Theatre's Sound Team in October 2016 where he alternated between A1 (live mixing) and A2 (monitoring) for a production of In The Heights.  The sound design was complex, with 22 wireless microphones, offstage singers, & a 12-piece band located backstage.  He quickly got up to speed with our equipment and procedures.  It became clear after only a few rehearsals that his attention to detail and discerning ear were going to suit him well on our team.  In less than a year he's mixed several different shows for us and most recently has started to take on Sound Design responsibilities that span many different disciplines: collaborating with the artistic staff; gathering and editing of sound effects; script write-up and cue programming; design, configuration, and fine-tuning of the sound equipment; mentoring new team members; and debug and repair of equipment issues.  Richard is a pleasure to work with and has become a valuable Sound Team member at South Bay Musical Theatre."

"Richard Ash has been a tremendous asset to our success; the music he created for our Chef Koochooloo crowd funding video has been super popular!.  He also created additional music [involved with our application]; I would highly recommend him for any projects.  The best thing about Richard is that he is also kind, considerate and goes way out of his way to help your project to be a success."

"The Hacker Dojo team had an amazing experience working with the [sound designers and composers] for a 60 second promotional video about our organization.  They produced great work and responded to our feedback.  I’d love to work with the team again!"

"It was a pleasure working with Richard Ash on the musical score for our short film "Trouble Brewing." Throughout the production, Richard exceeded my expectations in quality and he consistently carried himself in a respectful, professional manner. If something wasn't working with the score, Richard offered multiple suggestions on how we could fix whatever problem had arisen. The score sounds wonderful; I wouldn't hesitate to work with Richard again."

-Timothy Heath, Director "Trouble Brewing"

"Richard has been a valued member of the Cogswell Rock Band since its inception three years ago.  During that time he has consistently shown a strong desire and ability to learn his parts and play them correctly, setting high standards for himself and others.  He is always open to suggestions for improvement and willing to help out in any way he can.
In addition to playing in the band, Richard also recently recorded and mixed a live performance of the Cogswell band playing "Stay With Me," which was posted on the web and provided valuable feedback to the band.  He also voluntarily spent a day assisting me in a private recording session.  Finally, Richard was a key member of the Project X sound track group this spring, composing, orchestrating, and helping to lead the group to the successful completion of the score."

"Richard Ash came into a troubled soundtrack music project and provided the necessary time commitment and serious attitude to bring the project to a successful completion. His musical work on the project was highly creative, with extraordinary sensitivity to the musical needs of the story line and an impressive attention to detail. I have found Mr. Ash's approach to all his work and projects marked with the same depth of commitment and level of artistic sensitivity. Plus, he brings a positive attitude and a desire to learn that makes working with him a pleasure at all times."

"I'm very pleased with the mixing job Richard did for the track "Work". The song began as an instrumental remix I produced of the song "Work" by the artist A$AP Ferg. Featured on vocals is San Francisco based Katya Bitar. All the recorded vocals were improvised. Kyle O'brien is featured on Mandolin, and all of his recordings were improvised as well. After recording various takes of vocals and mandolin, I sent the session files to Richard, and he edited and mixed the song to completion. Considering the less-than-ideal recording environment that was available, the vocals ended up sounding really nice! Overall I'm very happy with how the track ended up sounding."

"Richard Ash is a great producer/recording engineer.  I usually have a very specific idea in mind for how I want my compositions to sound and Richard was always adept at realizing my vision. No matter what that problem was—micing an accordion, getting a digital bass to gel with acoustic drums, or blending freshly-recorded drums into an old, heavily tape-processed instrumental—Richard took care of it. As a musician himself, he respects the compositional process. I never felt like he tried to “impose his will” on my tracks; rather, his advice on mixing, arranging and other recording tactics was always helpful and non-intrusive. As a result, we created some tracks that I’m really happy with and that I feel are an accurate representation of what previously was only a jumble of notes in my head, which I think is the greatest compliment a musician can give to his or her engineer."

-A. Megantz, Musician & Composer

"Richard Ash has done a fantastic job during the entire time I've been lucky to work with him. From start to finish (well, at least after I had things to show him anyways) he's been ready to help me envision my short film, "Mustache Mojo," with a great mix of bar-time ambiance and all the silly gags I was able to throw at him. Its true when they say the animation only comes to life with a proper soundtrack, and this man has done a fantastic job at demonstrating that!"

"Richard has such a good grasp on an artist's vision that his approach to recording and mix engineering always works to bring that vision to life. Whether it was an attention to detail or the insight and inspiration to incorporate new elements into a project, he found a way to achieve the best possible results. I would recommend him for any audio project or even just to consult creatively with. He's a great talent and super easy to collaborate with."

-Mardi Morillo, Singer/Songwriter

"Richard took my lyrics for a song in my musical stage play and created magic with his arrangement and voice. He was professional, timely, and kept in contact throughout the stages of the song's production. I recommend him for your sound production needs. Richard is terrific, professional, fun, and such a delight to work with!"
